How to choose the correct cheque scanner

When you are first setting up your service you will need to purchase a USB cheque scanner and you will need to install the driver’s corresponding to your cheque scanner.

Remember, a cheque scanner is not to be confused with a normal image scanner. Cheque scanners are different than standard optical scanners because they read the account information magnetically from the bottom of a cheque which is called the Magnetic Ink Character Recognition (MICR) line.

How to clean your scanner

To clean your cheque scanner go to our preferred scanner vendor’s web portal at http://orderyourscanner.scotiabank.com then go to the product page corresponding to the cheque scanner you purchased and download the corresponding cleaning guide.
