Approve, Modify or Delete Pending Requests for Transfer

The ability to modify, delete, approve or submit a pending Request for Transfer is available only to those who have been assigned such privileges.

How to modify, delete, approve or submit one at a time

Navigate to Payments and select Request for Transfers in the sub-menu, then choose the Pending tab. On the Pending page, click the specific Reference Number link you want to view.

  1. On the Request for Transfer Detail page, you may edit the following information:
    1. Execution date
    2. Payment amount
    3. Exchange rate/Rate reference
    4. Original amount
    5. Information to beneficiary
    6. Additional information fields
    7. Instructions
  2. A log of any previous changes and statuses appears below the full transaction details.
  3. Review any changes you may have made and when ready use the drop down menu at the bottom of the page to choose the action you want. The menu will display the actions that you are entitled to, and can include:
    1. Approve
    2. Delete
    3. Save
    4. Sign & Submit
  4. After you make your selection, click the red “Go” button.
  5. Depending on your chosen action, what occurs next could be:
    1. Approve: A dialogue box will appear asking if you are sure you want perform that action. Click “Ok” to proceed.
    2. Submit: You will be asked to ‘sign’ electronically by using your security token, similarly to signing into ScotiaConnect.
    3. Delete: A dialogue box will appear asking if you are sure you want to delete. Click “Ok” to proceed.
    4. Save: The system will save your changes, unless there is anything for you to correct. If so, a message will let you know what to adjust.
  6. Back on the Pending page, whatever action you took will be reflected in the table:
    1. Approve: The status of the request for transfer will be updated to reflect the action you took.
    2. Submit: The request(s) for transfer submitted to the Bank will no longer be listed here; view them on the Request for Transfer History page.
    3. Delete: The request for transfer will no longer be listed.
    4. Save: Your changes will be displayed in the list and/or its details page.

Note: Be sure to Save any modifications you made before you approve or submit an item.

How to delete, approve or submit multiple requests at a time

The ability to approve, submit or delete multiple requests at a time can be performed on the Pending page.

Navigate to Payments and select Request for Transfers in the sub-menu, then select Pending. When viewing the list of pending requests for transfer, you will notice checkboxes to the left of each line item. Below the list is a drop down menu. The checkboxes and drop menu work together.

  1. Select any or all checkboxes of the transaction(s) you want to either approve, submit or delete. This may include selecting items through multiple pages, if applicable.
  2. When you’re ready, use the drop down menu to choose the action for which you are entitled. This may include approve, submit or delete.
  3. Then click the red “Go” button.
  4. Depending on your action, what occurs next could be:
    1. Approve: A dialogue box will appear asking if you are sure you want approve. Click “Ok” to proceed.
    2. Submit: You will be asked to ‘sign’ electronically by using your security token, similarly to signing into ScotiaConnect.
    3. Delete: A dialogue box will appear asking if you are sure you want to delete. Click “Ok” to proceed.
  5. Back on the Pending page, whatever action you took will be reflected in the table:
    1. Approve: The status of the request(s) for transfer will have changed.
    2. Submit: The request(s) for transfer submitted to the Bank will no longer be listed here; view them on the Request for Transfer History page.
    3. Delete: The request(s) for transfer will no longer be listed.

Note: You can only make modifications to a request for transfer one at a time. That is done on the Request for Transfer Details page, as outlined above.
