Review Trace

 

To determine the status of a previously initiated Trace Request enter the following information based on your original request:

·         Scotia Direct Service Agreement – (Mandatory) Select the Scotia Direct Service Agreement Number from the drop-down list under which the original Trace Request was initiated.

·         Review Option – (Mandatory) Select one of the following four search options:

o        Trace Acknowledgement Number – Entering the Trace Acknowledgement Number provided on the confirmation you received when the trace was initiated will take you directly to the trace status, otherwise you will have to search for the trace item and status using one of the other three options.

o        Selected Date Range – If you are not looking for the trace results for a specific payment, do not have the associated Trace Acknowledgement Number or do not know the status of the trace request, you can elect to use the most generic search and review a summary of all trace requests initiated under the Scotia Direct Service Agreement within the time period you specify.

o        Pending Date Range – If you are not looking for the trace results for a specific payment, do not have the Trace Acknowledgement Number or are looking for trace requests not yet completed, you can elect to search and review a summary of all trace requests initiated under the Scotia Direct Service Agreement within the time period you specify that are still in progress.

o        Completed Date Range – If you are not looking for the trace results for a specific payment, do not have the Trace Acknowledgement Number or are looking for trace requests that have been completed, you can elect to search and review a summary of all trace requests initiated under the Scotia Direct Service Agreement within the time period you specify that are completed.

Having entered the search criteria, clicking on the View button will display the item(s) matching your selection criteria.

Trace Requests, initiated within the previous 90 days, matching the selection criteria entered will be displayed with a status of ‘Pending’ or ‘Complete’.  Research has been completed and the results are available for those statused as ‘Complete’, whereas research is still in progress for those statused as ‘Pending’. Details of the trace activity or results can be obtained by clicking on the Cross Reference Number of the payment to be viewed.  Details of the payment and the status can then be viewed.  Clicking on the Print button will provide you with a hard copy of the details.

 

Trace Results History Retention

           

The history of Trace Requests is maintained for 90 days.
